Guru Nanak, the first of the ten Sikh Gurus, was the founder of Sikhism. His birth is celebrated worldwide as Guru Nanak Gurpurab on Kartik Pooranmashi (the full-moon day of the month of Kartik). This year it is falling on 12th November, 2019.
Guru Nanak travelled far and wide in the country and abroad and preached people the message of one God. "Ek Om Kar". As per his philosophy God is one.
Nanak's words are registered in the form of 974 poetic hymns in the holy text of Sikhism, the Guru Granth Sahib.
Gurn Nanak was born on 15th April 1469 in Nankana Sahib, Punjab, now in Pakistan.
Guru Nanak left humanly body on 22nd September 1539 at the aged 70 in Kartarpur which is now in Pakistan.
